Job Description


Perform as an AIT Coordinator and Availability Planner during LCS-Class ship post-delivery shipyard Post-Shakedown Availabilities (PSAs), Continuous Maintenance Availabilities (CMAVs) and  Windows of Opportunity (WOOs) where PMS-505/501/420 LCS Hull Modernization Plan (LHMP) work is being conducted. Tasking entails acting as a liaison between AIT installation dates and Integrated Master Schedules for the post-delivery periods, maintaining and coordination a master plan of AIT alterations and visits, integrating AIT status reports for the Combat System Project Engineer and Hull Manager, developing statements of work for AIT support services, relaying AIT issues for resolution, coordinating work certification memo receipt for AITs, relaying processes and procedures for AIT installations, and checking/working with the AIT teams to ensure that all AIT requirements for install are met prior to the teams commencing work.

Gather and store AIT Objective Quality Evidence of the installations (QA workbooks) for the Program Office on the PMS-501 Sharepoint drive, participate in all LCS Hull Modernization Planning (LHMP) reviews (weekly and monthly) representing AIT start/completion dates, participate in LCSRON Maintenance meetings for the AITs, process Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) Forms for signatures, serve as the Gatekeeper to check-in/out installation teams and coordinate with RMMCO Form POCs to ensure alterations are properly closed out.

In addition, manage the QA Certification paperwork for LCS Combat System modernization including Corrective Action Reports (CARs)/Condition Found Reports (CFRs)/On-site Installation Coordinator surveillance sheets/AIT Manager and Sponsor assessments and providing input to metrics, lessons learned, process improvements and instructions relative to RMMCO/LHMP/QA Certification efforts.  Support post-delivery and production teams with inputs to presentations, status reports, papers and meeting minutes and facilitate monthly telcons to discuss AIT work.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree plus 2 to 4 years related experience working in support US Navy installation Planning, Configuration Management and/or Logistics Management. Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 8 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data.

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. The position requires professional speaking and writing skills.

Strong customer service orientation. Project management experience a plus.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Active DoD Confidential Clearance is preferred and will be required after employment.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarization with US Navy instructions for management of Alteration Installation Teams (specifically a thorough knowledge of 9090.310F ) to the level of being able to coach personnel on requirements, understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), skills to immediately act as Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) for LCS-class ships, familiarization with installation processes, new construction work package development and interpreting shipyard progress data.
